So  as I posted before I came across Archspire, and got blown away. SO  what do I o when i hear a sick band. Check out videos to find if there are any drum playthroughs videos available.  The thing about metal, and the thing about drums. Is that you can have so many different styles.  Take Adam Jarvis for example, the guy play the drums for Misery Index, Pig Destroyer, Fulgora, and another band called Asthma Castle. Listen to all of those bands and you will see they are all different styles.  so not only are drummers capable of having one style and sound, they can also play different types of music. Some can even play music that could be metal, jazz, hip hop and funk all mixed together like Candiria’s Ken Schalk.

So today’s recognition goes to Spencer, the guy plays some sick drums to the album and i wanted to try and find a video either a live set, or a playthrough and guess what. I got a play through for the song Lucid Collective Somnabulation. Check it out;

I love discovering bands, and hearing their songs for the first time. You never know what you are getting into, sometimes its a great first impression. Other times it may not be to your liking but along the way you discover another band who is more your taste in music. So you know me i am just checking out summer tours, and current tours and the bands playing the said tours. So I check out Aborted because i know they are on tour right now. I see the Name Archspire and i have never heard of them. Naturally I start a search for their music, I rock Spotify, I will check out youtube, I will check out anything I can just to hear new music. I type in Archspire and click on the second track I see. ” Lucid Collective Somnambulation”  and HOLY SHIT! this song starts out with a menacing technical intro and right around :45 seconds in the vocals kick in and the tempo is just rapid fire ready to lay waste to anything in its path.  This song is badass, and this is why i like giving any metal band the benefit of the doubt to blow me away and surprise me. These guys did just that

So I just happened to check out these guys on their  bandcamp page ; https://maruta.bandcamp.com/   these guys are sick. From the track ” Stand in defeat” these guys are not holding back.  I mean holy shit these guys are boom right out of the gate full throttle  melt your face grinding metal. I dig it, i dont know how i havent heard these guys before but the track has been on repeat for a few cycles. These guys mean Business.And the album due out June 2nd ” Remain Dystopia” is meant to destroy you.   If this is how only one track off the album is going to be i can only imagine what the other 16 tracks will be like.

New ” The Black Dahlia Murder”!?! @bdmmetal @metalinjection

So this is pretty cool, I’m sitting here minding my own business and  just getting amped up because Cattle Decapitation is going to make an annoucement tomorrow about new music, and i stumble upon  some news that www.metalinjection.net  has posted about The Black Dahlia Murder. producer Mark Lewis worked with the band for the last few albums. (great albums) Has posted to his instagram account that the band wrapped up recording their 7th work of art this past Friday. This is great news, if we see a new album by these guys in this year will have been great for new music. Check this out, its a live video so the sound isn’t spectular but to se Candiria up on a stage again playing some sick tunes.  its great. Here’s the youtube video link. https://youtu.be/aZtaoozwPFY   here’s a fun fact Ken Schalk is the drummer for Candiria, back in higschool while i was playing the drums in the jazz band i had to do reports on musicians. Obviously i would pick a drummer, so I messaged Ken  unaware of if he even moderated his page. The stand up guy that he is, messaged me back with his full biography. SO take notes,  1) he’s a badass drummer 2) he is a stand up guy 3) I got a good grade on my report.

At any rate lets hope they are still going to stay doing their thing as a band and continue to make great music. Let me tell you something, I have been waiting on a Vehemence album since 2004’s ” Helping the world to see”.

Which was a great album and was the foolow up to 2002’s “God Was Created” album which was killer.  So on their facebook page back in March they had posted this  short video; https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1180240688668801  

and then in March they posted “Exciting news on the horizon” Well I for one am excited. These guys are so badass, and both albums  displayed serious bad ass metal.
